Get a new IMRC or you could fix it by rebuilding it, happend to me just got a new one from C-f-m great buy. Your just better off by getting a new one. Look it up on the forum and you"ll find some good stuff on the subject. Good luck!
it may be that the stock plastic lever broke. Have a friend help you, because youll need them to turn the car on. It may also be useful to pull the air box to see it better. The lever will be in the intake manifold right below the TB. it will have a cable attached to it. It will rotate counter clockwise at startup. If the IRMC (a motor sitting behind the headlight that pulls the cable) doesnt pull on this at startup, there is your problem. However, if the flaps are stuck in the long runner position (pulled on by the IMRC) then potentially a new lower IM may be needed. If the cable is nolonger attached to the lever on the IM, a replacement can be purchased from CFM that is billet and not plastic.
If it"s throwing a code it"s a bad IMRC, if the lever breaks you don"t get a code.We have the new IMRC in stock for $186.00 plus shipping. The only time I"ve actually heard of the door in the intake getting physically stuck was from a person jamming it when installing a new lever and even his popped loose after a couple days of driving.-Steve
Getting ready to install my stock replacement from Steve at Tousley tonight. I replaced the cowl plastic pieces and the hood blanket as well. The engine bay looks brand new!!Nate

To take my thread back from the hijacker....AHEM clifftopher jk. Current codes, the P1518 and P1246- I know the first means I need to replace/clean the IMRC (Should I even bother attempting to clean it or would it be better to just replace?) BUT what is the second one? It says it has to do with the alternator, "load was above or below expected values...Probable causes Open or shorted electrical conditions, faulty voltage regulator, generator belt loose...." Are they two related? Or do I have two problems?

Check the wiring pigtail going into the alternator, check the battery terminals and maybe have the charging system tested.Fixing the IMRC is a band-aid, it will fail completely at some point.

P1246I"m finding that this is usually a cause from the inline fuse blowing on the alternator wire.It could ALSO be the alternator pig tail and the ECU isn"t getting a reading from one of the wires. Signal or Return (3 wire plug - common failure)
This is the second time ive heard someone say his my 04 SVT did not have an inline fuse in the main harness when i did the updated pigtail fix I pulled the wiring back 18 inches and there was not an inline fuse.

There IS an inline fuse. It"s a 175 amp and it"s about four inches from the starter and ten inches from the alternator. It is not in the wiring going to the three wire connector.-Steve
Hi av got a 2003 st 170 n am getting code p1518 intake mani control stuck open bank1 checked cable n it moves on start up then moves back when it gets to about 6000 rpm some people told me if that happens its fine but am getting code up and it"s not running rite it"s lost its power sum times it"s really bad n not far off undriveable can the cable still move even tho the unit is not working eny help would be Appreciated
From what I understand it can still be stuck open even if the lever moves. In my case I just had to replace it and a Ford dealer replaced the while unit for five hundred. I would try what was suggested earlier in this forum as under two hundred is much better than five hundredSent from my Huawei-U8665 using Tapatalk 2
Although that price earlier in this thread was just parts. If you aren"t doing the work yourself five hundred for labor and parts together may be about rightSent from my Huawei-U8665 using Tapatalk 2
