I go something stupid, which ns won"t say due to sheer embarrassment. Anyway, what ns did caused my OBD2 harbor to stop working. Ns plugged my ELM327 Bluetooth adapter into it and it doesn"t receive any type of power. My inquiry is, walk the harbor share the same fuse as the tobacco lighter or other else? ns figured I"d change the fuse to see if that"s the problem, prior to getting ripped off at a GM dealer.
1-Carefully study your elm327 adapter because that damage and the DLC harbor in the car. Be sure pins aren"t bent or propelled in/aside, preventing correct electrical connections.2-It might be the elm327 is faulty.3-The CD/DLC 15A fuse powers the DLC port on pin 16. This fuse is in the engine fuse panel.Have you tried her elm327 in one more car? A fast test would be plugging in the adapter and turning ignition ON. Its okay you don"t have to say what friend did.fdryer is right, that is the 15amp CD/DLC fuse, if that anything choose my L300 the a fuse close to the firewall right over the 20a lighter fuse.Coincidentally, I actually made a thread referred to as "I did something stupid" and in the I stated blowing the very same fuse!
Also, friend might be able to still usage your OBDII once the auto is off, yet in the run position, offer it a try. Thank girlfriend for telling me which fuse and also what form to use. The is the port since I tried mine USB ELM327 and also it does the very same thing. Time because that a trip to advance Auto parts.
I looked increase a chart of the fuse box and also noticed there to be spares included with it. I gained the fuse replaced and the port and also ELM327 room working again. Many thanks again for the help.
