You are watching: Can i use 265 70r17 instead of 265 65r17

My 2007 LE 4x4 king cab came stock with 265/65 R17. I plan on getting BFG KO2"s in 265/70 R17. Reason being- that size is C load rated instead of E load rated in the stock 265/65 R17 size. I currently run E load rated tires on my work truck and they"re hard as a rock; I don"t want that on my Fronty. Anybody think there will be any ill effects with the higher aspect ratio aside from the speedometer inaccuracy?

you will lose 300 miles on your odometer every 10k miles driven. your ride may be a little softeras you"ll have more sidewall. your fuel economy might suffer a scooch. your dog will need to jump higher to get into your truck.

Lmao! All good points. Not too worried about the miles; it"s a 2007 and only has 86k on the odo. I drive my company work truck 98% of the time; only drive the Fronty on the weekends. And the dog is the wife"s. French bulldog that rides in her suv only... lol
