Gummi Ship Missions
Returning from Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora can pilot the Gummi Ship through various courses while traveling from World to World. The entire Gummi system has been reworked, so feel free to forget everything you learned while playing the first game.

Each route has three Missions. Mission Level 1 and 2 are unlocked after completing the route for the first time, while Mission Level 3 is unlocked after clearing Levels 1 and 2 at least once each. Completing each Mission Level with an S Rank unlocks the EX version of that mission.
There are a variety of rewards for each route, and they change for each Mission Level. Completion Bonus rewards are given if certain score values are met. Treasures are dropped after special enemies are defeated. You must complete a route to save any Treasures that are dropped.
In order to obtain all Achievements related to the Gummi Ships in KH2, you need to get an S Rank on at least one standard Mission and one EX Mission for each route.
For regular story play, the ships you receive by completing missions are more than capable of getting you to the end of the game. You will never have to touch the Gummi Ship Editor if you don"t want.
Mission Level 1: Medal Hunt
The actual mission itself is identical to the story mission.
Mission Level 2: Enemy Strike
The goal of these missions is to defeat a specific number of enemy ships. Score does not matter. The number of enemies and their configurations are changed compared to Mission Level 1.
Mission Level 3: High Score Run
These missions return to tracking your score, however, you are given full control over the camera.
Building The Donut
No matter where you go online, the recommended original Gummi Ship design is The Donut.
The Donut design exploits a particular feature of the combat: enemy projectiles target the center of your ship. By building a ship with nothing in the center, 99% of attacks will miss. Area of effect and melee attacks can still deal damage, but they are few and far between.
During the early portions of the game, you will not have enough gummi blocks to build a full power Donut, but even a partial build is more effective than any of the Special or Sample Blueprints. Build as much of The Donut as you can, and use it to get more parts to upgrade it.
To get started, load up any Gummi Ship route and enter the Gummi Editor. Click while in the ORIGINAL BLUEPRINTS section to begin building. There are two pages of options, the MATERIAL GUMMIES page is the default, and if you press
With MATERIAL GUMMIES selected, choose Place Gummies, then Bevelled Gummies to find your supply of Material/G pieces. Pick the first option, the basic square piece. The construction area begins facing towards the left side of the screen. Use
Choose the Weapon Gummies option, followed by Projectile Gummies. Place a Blizzaga/G gummi in the top and bottom center positions of the ship. Use
Return to the DECO-GUMMIES menu and select Auxiliary Gummies, followed by Optional Gummies. Place as many Neon Orb/G and Neon Bar/G pieces as you can within the ship to increase its power.
Again, return to the main menu and select Assign Abilities. Spend whatever AP you have on, in rough order of importance, Draw, Medal Converter, and Cannon Upgrade Abilities. Feel free to adjust these as you play to meet your needs.
After completing the Phantom Storm route, the Teeny Ship system will be unlocked. The building process is almost completely identical; the only change being that the cost is significantly lower, as is space.
Go straight to the DECO-GUMMIES menu and select Weapon Gummies, Projectile Gummies. Place a Fira/G on top of a Meteor/G.
And that"s it! Go out and try the ship out and watch it in action. Modify this basic build as needed to complete EX Missions and earn high scores.
