I purchase a Savage 110E (308) brand new in 1978. The serial number is C46xxxx, so ns think that confirms your is probably mid 1970s. I believe that time period all the 110E stocks had a stamped checking on the hardwood stock, previously models the stocks were smooth.

. The "dating" business is intended much more for dating and documenting the enlarge collectable guns that are no much longer in production and were made prior to 1980."F" prefix through a serial number reduced than F498821 = 1989 thru Nov. 1st, 1995"F" prefix through a serial number greater than F498821 = Nov. 1st, 1995 with the end of 2002"G" prefix began in 2003 v the advent of the AccuTrigger"H" prefix started in January that 2010Serial number prefix is "C", just how is any type of of the above relevant?
Actually this isn"t 100% accurate. I simply picked increase a pre-accutrigger flat receiver 111FCXPS through a G serial number so over there must have actually been one overlap as soon as the G collection started.

Actually this isn"t 100% accurate. I just picked increase a pre-accutrigger with a G serial number G423*** , not a flat finish. Ns think this is just one of the package deals the came with a 3x9x40 Simmons 8 point scope. Nice flat shooter that has taken a deer 4 that the past 5 years. Simply replaced the scope...
Savage has no records and they drop them off easily even today.I have a G i place about 2008 yet it can be more recent or older. The is not also to the year, 7 year possibility. Simply not there unless we construct our very own list from known letters and also date actually bought. Does begin with J0000001 or ?

Actually it is accurate. The declare doesn"t say all "G" prefix rifles had actually the AccuTrigger, only that the readjust to "G" coincided with the advent of the AccuTrigger. Savage tho made non-AccuTrigger rifles after ~ the AccuTrigger came out, mainly as package rifles favor yours or big box keep specials. And also yes, some also featured leftover flat-back receivers that Savage had actually previously collection back because that warranty repair/replacement use.
My 110 has actually NO letter prefix. I have not to be able to date it. Serial #136XX Any assist anyone??? Left side of barrel has oval v either IIJ or 11J, right side barrel just has a X. Thanks

The "J" in your barrel stamp indicates rifle was created in 1958 and also based on 6-digit serial number my guess is late "58. Serial numbers began at 1, therefore yours is the 36,xxx rifle produced that year. I own the 71st 110 come come off the production line, has a 4 number serial number with an "16I" barrel stamp. Production date on mine has been confirmed as 1957 and is the oldest recognized 4-digit serial number 110 in forum member foolish Dog"s registry.Doesn"t make them any much more valuable, in fact, due to barrel and receiver being distinctive in the beforehand years, very couple of parts will certainly interchange. Mine has been in the family because 1967 or 1968 therefore I have the right to account for all yet 10yrs that ownership. ;-)
