Manufacturers commonly describe the thickness of their liners in MILs or Gauges. Some use the terms interchangeably as they are the same. They aren"t. MIL designated liners are 6-12% thicker than a Gauge designated liner for the same number. For example, a 25 MIL liner is about 12% thicker than a 25 Gauge liner. This guide shows the differences to give you a better understanding of what thickness liner you are buying. Please click here to view our liners.

20 units - A 20 Gauge liner is 0.0185 inches thick. A 20 MIL liner is 0.0205 inches thick or approximately 11% thicker than a 20 Gauge liner.

Hello Edward - Liners are typically sold as either 20 gauge or 25 gauge. A 12 mil liner is on the thinner side, so that was probably sold as a 20 gauge liner. Reply
Hello Tina - A liner listed at 25 gauge would be similar to one listed at 20 mil. Reply
DT - Pool liners aren"t sold in that thin a gauge or mil. However, going by the very rough gauge to mil comparison (e.g.- a mil is about 10% thicker than a gauge), a 12 gauge would be thicker than a 9 mil. Reply
duh people - In pools vinyl liners, gauge sizes are reversed from sheet metal gauge sizes. For vinyl liners, 25 gauge is heaver than 20 gauge. Reply
